Managing Content Editor – Atlanta

We’re looking for a proactive manager to lead our team of 4 creative, hard working Content Editors. Our Atlanta office is growing quickly and we need someone to create and manage the systems that keep us all performing at our best.

 

As our Managing Editor, you will oversee our team of social media managers, website designers and videographers as we run digital marketing campaigns for clients. You will build relationships with our clients, and ensure that the work we do for them is performed at the highest level. You will be accountable for improving our processes and ensuring results. You will manage the workflow, watching for problems and fixing them before they surface.

 

We are journalists who put our professional storytelling expertise to work in the field of digital marketing. The right Managing Editor for us will understand the communication aspect of social media, not just the tech. He or she will know what makes a compelling website, and how to build a connection through video.

 

You will need to be an excellent storyteller in your own right, and a resource for inspiration and creativity – able to brainstorm with and mentor the team. Previous experience managing digital marketing campaigns for business is required. You will also need to be a highly organized and motivated leader, as your role will put you in a management position, acting as a liaison between our President and the Atlanta office.

 

We have a dedicated team, and our top priorities are our clients and our culture. In order to fit in here, you should be passionate about caring for both.

 

On a technical level, you will need to be familiar with Monday Project Management software, WordPress, and all major social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram). Previous management experience is required, and proven leadership abilities are essential. Agency or newsroom experience is a plus.

 

This is a full-time, salaried position.

 

Qualifications

Creative.

If creating exceptional online content was easy, anyone could do it. If you have big ideas, are willing to take risks, and want a job where you can be innovative and try new things, KWSM could be a very good fit.

 

Communicative.

We tell stories for a living. That involves engaging and communicating with an audience online, but it also requires the ability to communicate well with our clients, and each other. We’re a small company, and you will have a lot of opportunity to add your feedback. We need someone who wants to be heard.

 

Great at Time Management.

Can you take a lengthy ‘to do’ list and prioritize what’s important? Can you multi-task when necessary, while continuing to perform well? Can you thrive in a bustling and interactive environment, and still get your work done? If so, you’ll fit right in!

 

Uncommonly organized.

We are a quickly growing company, expanding in the fields of social media, web design and video production. Between the clients and prospects in all those areas, we interface with dozens of companies at a time. You won’t be bored here, but you will need to keep your ducks in a row.

 

Team-oriented.

We have a very collaborative office, and want to work with people who want to be part of a team. If you’re the kind of person who likes the door to their office closed, you probably won’t be happy here. (Our offices don’t actually have doors.)

 

Social.

Yes, we work online. But in order to accurately tell our clients’ stories on social media, we have to get to know them offline, too. A large part of your job will be building relationships with clients and acting as their advocate. We work hard for our clients, but we like to socialize with them, too.

 

Passionate.

We want to work with people who are passionate. About what doesn’t really matter. If you have the ability to get excited about something and throw yourself into it, we would love to meet you.
